Senjin Goukura  3 Mar 1892-25 Oct 1975 Japanese painter, member of the Japan Art Academy.


Born in Toyama, graduated from the Japanese Painting Department of Tokyo Fine Arts School in 1915, moved to the USA in 1916, won the Japan Art Academy Prize at the 1922 Inten Exhibition, became a member of the Japan Art Academy in 1924, continued to exhibit at the Inten Exhibition, became a professor of Japanese painting at the Imperial Fine Arts School in 1934, professor of Japanese painting at Tama Art School in 1936, judge at the Nitten Exhibition in 1949, professor at Tama Art University in 1956. He was a member of the Japan Art Academy in 1958, a trustee of the Japan Art Academy in 1958, a recipient of the Japan Art Academy Prize in 1960, a recipient of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon in 1971 and a member of the Japan Art Academy in 1972. Awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon in 1971 and a member of the Japan Art Academy in 1972.
