Snow of Sunset

“A tranquil festival of light at day's end”

This lithograph, Snow of Sunset, vividly captures “snow” and “evening light”—one of Masashi Yuma's most masterful themes.

The Appeal of This Work

Dramatic Color Contrast: The vivid yellow sunset spilling through the trees and the deep blue shadows stretching across the snow. This contrast of nearly complementary colors creates a pleasing tension and warmth within the composition.
Brushwork that creates rhythm: Though a print, the artist's characteristic vigorous brushstrokes come through directly. The simplified forms of the trees and the thickly rendered snow stir the viewer's imagination.
The coexistence of stillness and hope: Within the nostalgic landscape of a quiet winter dusk, a golden light shines through, suggesting hope for tomorrow. Displaying it in your living room or office brings refined tranquility and elegance to the space.
