Shinji Matsubara
Born in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture in 1960. Studied under Bizen Pottery artist Nakamura Rokuro in 1979. Selected for the "Tea Ceremony Formative Exhibition" at the Tabe Art Museum in 1990 (since then, selected for H10, 13, 14, 18). Selected for the "Japan Traditional Crafts Chugoku Branch Exhibition" in 1998. Selected for the "Ceramics Biennale '99" in 1999. Awarded the Encouragement Prize at the "Okayama Prefectural Art Exhibition" in 2005. Awarded the "Issuikai Honorable Mention" at the "Issuikai Exhibition" in 2006 (selected in 1998 and 2000).
