Masataka Oyabu is a Japanese-style painter born in Seoul. After switching from oil painting, he pursued his own unique expression of Japanese-style painting by using water-based acrylic paints together with mineral pigments to create the same effect as oil-based paints. In addition to Japanese-style painting, he also left behind works of hanging scrolls and ceramics, and is known for his artistic activities in a variety of genres. He has also had a solo exhibition at the Shiseido Gallery.
