Tadashi Asoma

Mr. Masashi Yuma is a highly regarded artist in Japan's contemporary Western-style painting world, known as the “painter of light and wind.”
•    1948: Born in Saitama Prefecture.
•    1971: Graduated from the Oil Painting Department, Faculty of Fine Arts, Musashino Art University.
•    1972: First exhibited at the Kokakai Exhibition, where he has been active ever since.
•    1982: Moved to the United States. Established his base in New York, developing a unique style inspired by local landscapes and light.
•    Present: Member of the Kokakai. Enjoys steady popularity through solo exhibitions at major department stores and galleries in Japan, as well as at international art fairs.
【Characteristics of Style】
His work is characterized by bold brushwork and calculated color contrasts. Particularly in his snowy landscapes and tree paintings, he evocatively captures the crisp winter air of North America and Japan with a contemporary sensibility.
