Hitoshi Komatsu (Hitoshi Komatsu, January 19, 1902-August 23, 1989) is a Japanese-style painter from Oishida Town, Kitamurayama District, Yamagata Prefecture. Person of Cultural Merit (1986). Honorary citizen of Oishida Town (1980), Honorary citizen of Murayama City (1981).
He has lived in Ohara near Kyoto since 1928, and was called "Ohara's painting sen", leaving behind many works based on the scenery of Ohara. Since 1969, he has left many works on the theme of his hometown, Mogami River.
